Job Summary
Lone Star Counseling & Assessment Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Full-Time Mental Health Therapist to join our growing group practice in Frisco, Texas.
We are looking for a clinician who values providing high-quality, evidence-based care while working in a supportive and collaborative private-practice environment. This position is ideal for a therapist who enjoys clinical work and would like the opportunity to maintain a consistent caseload without the administrative responsibilities associated with running a private practice.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments utilizing clinical documentation standards and ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Deliver individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral therapy
- Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or co-occurring disorders
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations to ensure quality patient care
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for detailed documentation of patient assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and medical records in compliance with clinical documentation standards
- Engage in case management activities including patient communication, follow-up care coordination, and community resource referrals
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to enhance evidence-based practices and improve client outcomes
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), LPC, LCSW, or LMFT with current state certification or license to practice independently.
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics in outpatient or inpatient settings
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, and behavioral health interventions
- Familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation standards
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), co-occurring disorders, PTSD care needs, chronic pain counseling, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling is highly desirable
- Proficiency in telehealth therapy platforms and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for clinical documentation and patient records management
- Ability to manage crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent client communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and clinical ethical guidelines to ensure confidentiality and professional integrity

Pay: $83,786.84 - $100,904.59 per year
