Join our compassionate and dedicated team at The Ware at Park Central as a Unit Manager. In collaboration with the DON, you will play a key role in planning, delivering, supervising, and evaluating resident care in alignment with Baptist Community Services' core values and regulatory standards. This leadership position involves ensuring high-quality nursing care, supporting staff development, maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines, and serving as an advocate for our residents.
This is an hourly, non-exempt position
Schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.
Key responsibilities in this role consist of, but are not limited to the following:

Supervise and evaluating nursing care through regular rounds and team oversight

Ensure timely response to resident needs and effective use of technology

Monitor dining and environmental quality for resident well-being

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care

Support and educate staff, oversee floor orientation, and guide performance evaluations

Assist with staffing, admissions, and emergency care as needed
-
Maintain strong communication with residents, families, staff, and management
-
Attend required meetings and uphold punctuality and attendance expectations
Qualifications:

Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse with current Texas licensure

Experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting

Excellent organizational communication skills

Be able to adapt to frequent change

Legible handwriting to document vital signs, assessments, and other pertinent patient/resident information

Cognitive skills are required for reasoned interpretation of assessments and implementation of appropriate nursing care measures

Be able to present information in large and small groups interactively

Ability to interact effectively, encourage, and motivate others
Physical and Special Demands

Must be able to walk and stand up to 80% of an 8-12 hour shift
-
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs. or greater with assistance, occasionally; 50 lbs. frequently; and 25 lbs. constantly. Aerobic energy requirements are high

Must be able to push/pull up to 200 lbs.
- Must be able to manipulate, position, and transfer various size patients/residents in bed, to and from toilets. Assist with ambulation and transfers

Must be able to respond to monitor alarms, patient intercom, telephone inquiries, and physician orders

Must be able to communicate effectively with residents

Must be able to perform general nursing assessment functions
