We are a non-profit organization that provides quality learning opportunities to individuals with pervasive developmental disorders such as autism, and several other developmental and learning disabilities, in a safe environment, and offers services and resources to their families.
We are looking to hire a Full-time Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Position Summary: The RBT has an understanding and awareness of developmentally disabled and behaviorally challenged students and Applied Behavior Analysis. Additional understanding of Behavior Skills Training, professional development training and modeling, and supporting students and staff during a crisis via Safe and Positive Approaches (SPA).
The Registered Behavioral Technician must be able to multi-task, be mission – and results – driven and be able to execute responsibilities in the school setting. The ideal individual should exercise good judgement, possess strong written and verbal communication, administrative, organizational and time management skills. The Registered Behavioral Technician should be able to work independently and have discretion with handling confidential information.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and support staff/students during crisis situations: including but not limited to monitoring restraints and retraining staff if needed.
- Support in the implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSP) and integrity.
- Train staff in Safe and Positive Approaches to Crisis Intervention.
- Identify trends in restraint data to support potential interventions recommendations by BCBAs.
- Ensure classroom environment is conducive to student success.
- Cooperates in any investigation or inquiry in investigations.
- Supporting BCBAs by data entry and proper documentation as needed.
- Supporting students/classrooms on WBL sessions to support behaviors needs.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities, including special projects, as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- RBT certificate.
- Prefer 3 years of experience working with students with disabilities.
- Prefer current certificate as a Safe and Positive Approach Trainer
- Excellent writing, verbal communication skills, and listening skills.
- Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding all agency information, both internal and external.
- In-depth understanding of entire MS Office suite as well as Google Docs is required.
- A proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and effectively.
- Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner.
- Must have a bias for action, strong work ethic, flexibility, and professionalism.
