Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Pharmacist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Provide expert patient service by offering medication counseling, answering questions, and assessing patient needs
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including medication compounding, stock control, and ensuring proper storage conditions
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and support medical management plans
- Perform patient assessments, including evaluating medical histories and physiology knowledge to tailor treatments effectively
- Maintain pharmacy records in compliance with HIPAA, USP 797 standards for sterile compounding, and other regulatory policies
- Supervise and manage pharmacy technicians and support staff to ensure smooth pharmacy operations and high-quality service
Requirements
- Valid pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate state licensing board
- Proven experience practicing as a pharmacist in settings such as hospital, LTC (Long-Term Care), community pharmacy, or acute care environments
- Critical care experience preferred; knowledge of pain management, immunizations, IV infusion, and aseptic technique is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of pharmacy software systems (PIS), EMR/EHR systems, and pharmacy information management tools
- Knowledge of drug regulation, pharmaceutical regulatory compliance, and healthcare compliance standards including HIPAA and state/federal laws
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service and patient care excellence
- Ability to perform medication administration procedures safely and accurately including IV insertion and infusion techniques
- Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire; familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, physiology is advantageous
- Experience managing pharmacy teams or supervising pharmacy technicians is a plus
