Assistant Store Manager — Full Time
Lark is looking for a warm, capable, and design-minded Assistant Store Manager to join our downtown Bend team.
Lark is an award-winning home décor and gift shop known for its thoughtfully curated collection, welcoming atmosphere, and personal customer service. We’re a busy, higher-end retail store with a close-knit team—and we’re looking for someone who enjoys creating beautiful experiences for both customers and coworkers.
About the Role
The Assistant Store Manager works closely with our Store Manager and owner to support the day-to-day flow of the shop. This is a hands-on position for someone who is confident leading a team, connecting with customers, and moving easily between creative, operational, and managerial responsibilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting, encouraging, and guiding the sales team
- Opening and closing the store
- Welcoming customers and providing thoughtful, personalized service
- Helping customers select home décor, gifts, and accessories
- Operating the point-of-sale system and completing sales
- Receiving, unpacking, and organizing merchandise
- Assisting with inventory and maintaining accurate product information
- Keeping the sales floor organized, inviting, and beautifully presented
- Helping with light housekeeping and the everyday upkeep of the shop
- Leading by example and stepping in wherever the team needs support
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal candidate:
- Has at least six months of recent retail leadership or management experience
- Is friendly, outgoing, and comfortable initiating conversations with customers
- Leads with kindness, reliability, and a calm, supportive presence
- Enjoys empowering others, delegating thoughtfully, and setting a positive example
- Has a genuine interest in home décor, interiors, gifts, and visual presentation
- Is comfortable using computers, point-of-sale systems, and basic retail technology
- Thrives in a busy environment and can balance multiple priorities
- Is dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
- Enjoys being part of a collaborative, close-knit team
- Has reliable transportation and can commute consistently to downtown Bend
Schedule and Physical Requirements
This is a full-time position with a mostly consistent schedule, Sunday-Thursday. Availability on weekends and around holidays is required.
The role involves being on your feet for most of the day, occasionally climbing ladders, and lifting or carrying moderately heavy merchandise.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting pay is based on experience.
