Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card payments
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos to enhance their shopping experience
- Upsell products by recommending additional items that meet customer needs, boosting sales and store revenue
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Manage inventory by conducting stock checks, assisting with stocking tasks, and supporting inventory management procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries via phone etiquette and in person with professionalism and clarity
- Support supervising staff during busy periods, helping oversee daily operations and ensuring smooth store flow
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience preferred; familiarity with retail math and basic math skills essential for cash handling
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering responsibilities; ability to perform retail transactions efficiently
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities to serve diverse customers effectively
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a positive attitude and problem-solving mindset
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demos is a plus
- Supervising experience is desirable for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
