We currently have a part-time position open for an independent contractor. The NS Group offers competitive pay with bonus opportunities, full travel reimbursement, a family-first approach, as well as flexible scheduling of your consulting time with some remote off-site work possible. Paid training is provided in addition to multiple CEU opportunities throughout the year. Your Role as a Consultant Dietitian
As a vital part of our team, you’ll focus on clinical expertise and relationship-building to elevate resident care and food and dining services. Your responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive nutrition assessments, monitoring weights, and overseeing nutrition-related care.
- Documenting nutritional needs, interventions, and outcomes with precision.
- Collaborating on care plans and participating in weekly QAPI meetings to drive quality improvements.
- Supporting the Food and Nutrition Services Department through audits to ensure safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
- Conducting monthly meal rounds and QA to ensure diets meet clinical, palatability, and presentation standards.
- Providing engaging in-service education to empower facility staff.

- A Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from an accredited institution.
- Alabama licensure (provisional licensure welcome-perfect for early-career professionals!).
- Availability during regular business hours (no evenings or weekends, ensuring work-life balance).
- Exceptional communication skills to build strong relationships with clients and residents.
- Strong clinical expertise, food safety knowledge, and familiarity with commercial kitchen operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel to streamline documentation.
- A proactive, independent mindset with a passion for making a difference.
