Overview
KK Building Supplies is a growing building-material supplier located in Howe, Texas. We provide a variety of building products to contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners, including windows, doors, flooring, trims and mouldings, siding, wall panels, and other building materials.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Showroom Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate should have previous experience in the building-material, construction-supply, or home-improvement industry and be comfortable working with customers, computers, sales orders, and basic accounting.
Responsibilities
* Welcome and assist customers in the showroom.
* Help contractors, builders, and homeowners select the right building materials.
* Answer customer phone calls and respond to product and pricing inquiries.
* Prepare quotes, sales orders, and invoices.
* Follow up with customers on quotes and potential sales.
* Maintain customer accounts and assist with basic accounting and record keeping.
* Enter orders, payments, and customer information into the computer system.
* Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure customer orders are prepared correctly.
* Maintain knowledge of products, pricing, inventory, and availability.
* Develop relationships with contractors, builders, and other customers.
* Help generate new business and increase showroom sales.
* Keep the showroom organized and professional.
Skills
- Proven experience in outside sales or retail sales with a focus on high-end products or construction-related items.
- Technical proficiency in SketchUp, CAD software, Microsoft Office suite, and lighting or interior design tools.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of renovation processes, construction materials, remodeling techniques, and fixture sales.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse clientele effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations, product demos, and team collaboration.
- Organizational skills to manage showroom stock, merchandising displays, and customer appointments efficiently.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for pricing, discounts, and measurements accurately.
Qualifications
* Building-material industry experience is required.
* Must have good knowledge of building materials and construction products.
* Previous sales or customer-service experience preferred.
* Experience with invoicing, customer accounts, or basic accounting.
* Good computer skills and ability to learn company software.
* Strong communication and customer-service skills.
* Able to prepare estimates and quotes accurately.
* Organized, dependable, and able to handle multiple customers and tasks.
* Professional attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
