Job Overview
Bird & Branch is a coffee shop & cafe located in Hell’s Kitchen at 359 W 45th St (@ 9th Ave). We are looking for a part-time entry level baker / kitchen prep team member. Culinary students welcome to apply. Professional experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.
The position:
- Preparing food, such as toasts and sandwiches, to order
- Baking and preparing various pastries, brownies (squares), sweet breads, and syrups for specialty drinks
- Maintaining a clean work station and ensuring consistent and high quality food service
- Participate in catering events, ensuring timely delivery and presentation of food items.
- Working in compliance with food safety regulations and processes
- Collaborate with baristas to ensure efficient workflow during service times.
Our ideal candidate:
- Must be available to work early mornings (6am) at least 1x weekend day
- Has a New York state Food Handler's License
- Has a strong passion for baking & cooking
- Strong organization and active listening skills
- Good time management and multitasking skills
- Willingness to learn
- Previous experience in NYC culinary roles or food service is preferred but not required

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $21.50 - $25.50 per hour
