Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper handling procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace
- Assist with meal preparation, including slicing, dicing, portioning, and plating food items
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and ensure timely delivery of orders
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on recipes and ingredient needs for daily specials or events
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and proper food handling practices to ensure safety and efficiency
- Knowledge of food safety management standards and adherence to safety protocols during production
- Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility for special requests or dietary needs
- Experience with catering or large-scale meal preparation is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with safety standards in production
