Part-Time Collections Representative (Accounts Receivable)

Job Description
We're looking for an organized, professional Collections Representative to join our Accounts Receivable team part-time. Your primary focus will be collections, working from our receivables aging report to contact business customers with past-due balances, coordinate payment, and keep accounts current. You'll also be trained as a backup for our billing team, stepping in when a team member is on PTO or out of office.
This is a consistent Monday–Friday schedule of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (20 hours per week), a great fit if you're looking for steady, professional work on a mid-day schedule.
What You Will Do
Collections (primary focus)
- Work from the accounts receivable aging report to prioritize and contact past-due accounts
- Review each account's history and prior collection notes before reaching out
- Make outbound calls and send emails to business customers about past-due invoices
- Coordinate payment arrangements and follow up on committed payments
- Document every contact in our customer system, including no-answer attempts
- Flag outdated or incorrect customer contact information so accounts stay current
- Escalate unresponsive or disputed accounts for review
Billing backup (as needed)
- Learn our billing process and customer management system
- Cover billing tasks when a team member is on PTO or out of office
- Assist with invoicing accuracy and customer billing questions
What You Bring
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Professional, confident phone presence. comfortable making outbound calls to business customers
- Strong written communication skills. Clear, accurate notes and professional emails
- Ability to work through a call list methodically and manage follow-ups across many accounts
- Comfortable working in multiple software screens at once
- Prior collections, accounts receivable, billing, or customer service experience preferred but not required, we'll train the right person on our systems and process
Pay: $22.00 per hour
