Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Maintenance Assistant Contractor to join a local organization. This is person will join the Energy Audit team.
The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to sustainability initiatives and gain valuable experience in energy management.
This role requires excellent computer literacy, familiarity with office management tools, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
Duties
- Assist auditors with equipment setup, measurements, photos, and general field tasks.
- Carry and transport equipment and materials.
- Climb ladders and access attics, crawlspaces, basements, and other areas of homes as needed.
- Drive to residential properties and transport equipment.
- Assist with basic weatherization-related tasks as directed.
- Follow safety procedures and instructions from the Energy Auditor.
- Experience working with the public
- Ability to calculate mathematical formulas
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow training manual guidelines and procedures
- Excellent listening and assessment skills
- Ability to carry, climb and balance on a ladder
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and on occasion lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insects
- Must have a valid driver license and maintain active car insurance
- Some evenings and weekends required occasionally
Ideal Candidate
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
- Has a valid driver's license and is comfortable driving to different locations.
- Comfortable working inside a variety of residential homes and conditions.
- Friendly, respectful, professional, and able to communicate tactfully with homeowners.
- Must be comfortable working in low-income homes and interacting with residents in a compassionate, nonjudgmental manner.
- Construction, maintenance, HVAC, weatherization, or home inspection experience is a plus but not required.

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
