About this position...
We are currently looking for Pipe Layers ( Wet/ Dry Utilities)
Our general pipe laborer executes the details of each well-thought-out project. Our company depends on this team member to do what it takes to provide the best solutions for our customers. Personnel will also be responsible for general labor to assist the construction division in completing projects.
What we are looking for from you...
- Specks grading bottom of trenches and making sure the pipe has adequate material over pipe.
- Help with backfilling of pipe/ utilities by head shaker, jumping jack, or roller.
- Should show up 15 min. before start time to help set up for the day and help at the end of day buy cleaning tracks and putting away hand tools used that day.
- Assist the equipment division with the installation of utilities and operating ancillary equipment.
- Assist construction managers with receiving and unloading of large material deliveries.
- Assist in manual labor as needed.
Potential Duties for Pipe Layers Include but not limited to:
- Lay Water, Sewer, and Storm Sewer Pipe on line and Grade
- Identify key job conditions such as soil conditions and grades
- Cutting Pipe
- Bolting Pipe Fittings Together
- Grade or level trench bases with the proper equipment
- Set up Pipe Laser
- Shoot Grade
- Understand Blue Prints
- Asks for help as needed
- Team Player
All candidates must meet the basic requirements:
- Pass pre-employment drug screen
- General Knowledge of underground utility work (Wet/ Dry Utilities)
- Distribution and collections systems, maintenance and installations.
- Attendance and Punctuality to be at work and on time
- Good track record for safety and accuracy.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in construction and pipe-related industries.
- Able to follow direction and stay on task.
- Experience in earthworks and utilities a plus. We will train laborers that are willing to learn.
- Company Drug Free Work Policy.
- Ability to operate equipment (loader, backhoe, excavator, etc.) a plus, but not required.
