JOB
The Accounting Supervisor for Financial Planning and Analysis performs advanced-level professional accounting work and supervises the work and personnel of one or more major areas of accounting. As a fundamental skill set, this position requires expertise with Excel, data analysis, importing and exporting multiple datasets, understanding data table connectivity, table structure, how to analyze using other Excel functions, pivot tables, and possibly multiple IF statements, H/VLOOPKUPs, complex sorts, and filters. Develops work schedules and plans, then assigns tasks to employees, prioritizing and overseeing their completion to ensure that deadlines and goals are met.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Assigns and supervises the work of accountants engaged in the preparation of budgets, various reports, and variance analyses.

Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of major schedules and work papers and certifies the accuracy of summary information.

Develops, installs, and maintains budgeting systems that provide control of expenditures made to carry out activities.

Advises management regarding expenditures and methods for preventing budgetary deficits.

Assigns work to workers and reviews completed work to ensure that work is completed in accordance with standard operating policies and procedures.

Evaluates employees' work performance and makes recommendations for improving and upgrading their skills.

Recommends or initiates personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures.

Trains and orients new employees to the routines of the operation; interprets company policies for workers.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in applying accounting theory and principles to a wide variety of transactions including budget preparation.
