Job Description
Shovel Kings is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Laborer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in concrete work, underground utilities, demolition, and pool installation. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on active job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with layout, excavation, and preparation for concrete pours
- Form, rebar, pour, finish, and cure concrete (slabs, footings, pads, etc.)
- Install underground utilities including water, sewer, and drainage systems
- Perform trenching, grading, and backfilling operations
- Assist with demolition of concrete, structures, and site features
- Support pool installation projects including excavation, plumbing, and backfill
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment safely
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Maintain clean and organized job sites
- Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 1–3 years of construction labor experience
- REAL ID and ability to pass background check
- Experience with concrete work (forming, finishing, reinforcement)
- Familiarity with underground utility installation
- Demolition experience preferred
- Pool installation experience is a plus
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
Preferred Skills
- Experience operating skid steers or excavators
- Ability to read basic construction drawings
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
