Duties
- Assist in meal planning and preparation according to established menus and recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and food processors
- Prepare food items with proper techniques such as slicing, chopping, cooking, and plating
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by cleaning utensils, appliances, counters, and floors regularly
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times
- Support catering events by preparing and serving food in accordance with client specifications
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service and address any issues promptly
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary or food service departments is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices
- Proficiency in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
- Excellent knife skills with proper slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience in food industry settings such as restaurants or catering environments
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and handling procedures
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
