Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.
Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks a full-time Radiologic Technology instructor. The successful candidate will be required to travel up-to- 100 miles from campus to evaluate students at clinical locations and teach radiography classes at any Horry-Georgetown Technical College campus location. This individual will report to the Academic Chair and Program Director of the Radiologic Technology Program in the Allied Healthcare Division and will be responsible for the following duties (this list is not intended to be exhaustive).
- Developing program syllabi, goals and objectives
- Evaluating students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
- Assessing Radiography students’ learning objectives
- Developing and implementing plans to improve student success rate of end-of-course exit examinations
- Maintaining program certification requirements, as appropriate
- Preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports
- Maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences
- Meeting with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of students
- Providing academic advisement to students
- Participating in academic term registrations
Duties include a flexible schedule of lecture, student advisement and registration. Must be willing to work split teaching shifts that might require split teaching days between multiple campus locations. Must fully embrace the responsibility for maintaining an acceptable number of students within related programs.
