Job Title: Lead Cook Supervisor — Full Time
Location: Connecticut Baptist Homes, Meriden, CT 06450
Schedule: 37.5 hrs/week; variable shifts including every-other-weekend; nights/holidays as required

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Lead Cook Supervisor to support the Director of Dietary Services in overseeing kitchen operations: meal preparation, staff supervision and training, inventory and ordering, sanitation, and department leadership in the DDS’s absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare meals using standardized recipes; follow safe food handling and sanitation protocols.
- Prepare and serve therapeutic diets; control portion sizes and food quality.
- Supervise, train, and schedule dietary staff; fill in as department lead when needed.
- Monitor equipment, maintain cleaning schedules, report maintenance needs.
- Manage inventory and assist with ordering to minimize waste.
- Attend required trainings and maintain compliance with safety, infection control (universal precautions), and hazardous materials policies.
- Promote resident satisfaction, teamwork, and facility values.
Qualifications
- Culinary certificate or degree preferred.
- 3–5 years healthcare/commercial food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial cooking equipment and food safety practices.
- ServeSafe preferred or must obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; stand, bend, stoop, kneel as required.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Availability for weekends, nights, and holidays.
