Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual inspections of the ambulance and patient compartment (interior and exterior) to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
- Clean and maintain the patient compartment, medical equipment, and vehicle exterior as needed.
- Identify and report damaged or missing equipment; replace items as required.
- Ensure ambulance compliance with all applicable New Jersey Department of Health regulations.
- Direct and coordinate with your partner regarding patient care, patient handling, emergency warning devices, vehicle speed, and special driving considerations based on patient needs.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all dispatched calls within assigned timeframes.
- Provide patient care in accordance with New Jersey Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols.
- Secure and document patient information from facility staff.
- Transport patients safely and professionally.
- Uphold patient rights through courteous behavior and appropriate communication.
- Accurately complete all required company documentation and obtain necessary signatures for billing prior to the end of each shift.
- Maintain professional conduct and positive working relationships with healthcare facility staff and colleagues while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Adhere to company uniform policy.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations.
- Perform additional duties as required by law and company policy.
Qualifications
- Valid EMT certification (New Jersey EMT preferred)
- Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
- Acceptable driving record (for driving positions)
- Ability to meet Modivcare testing requirements
