Responsibilities:
The Deputy Director supports the daily operations of the childcare center, working closely with the Director to ensure a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for children, staff, and families. This role includes administrative duties, staff supervision, regulatory compliance, family communication, and classroom support as needed. This position provides strong leadership with excellent communication and organizational skills and a passion for early childhood education.

Working hours:
Primarily 9:30 - 6:15 p.m., Monday - Friday and must be able to work any shifts as needed to support center operations and staffing requirements.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and be at least 18 years old, in accordance with applicable state or licensing regulations.
Five or more years relevant Early Childhood experience; or Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent certification, and three or more years of experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
At least one year of leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
At least one year of office experience, with strong knowledge of office software, filing systems, and document organization.
A valid Food Handlers certification (or obtain before employment begins)
Current CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain it within a designated time frame.
Must pass a background check and medical examination as required by applicable licensing regulations, federal, state, and Boone County policies.
Must maintain employment eligibility by meeting all state licensing, certification, background check, and training requirements.
Must maintain a valid driver's license.
Advanced understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a related field; a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or equivalent certification; and five+ years of relevant Early Childhood experience. Five+ years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience. Three+ years of office experience.
Starting Salary Range:
$62,940 - $64,854
