SUMMARY
Hit Club Baseball is seeking an in-house Strength & Conditioning Coach to lead group athletic-development workouts for youth and high school baseball players (ages 13–18) during scheduled membership training blocks. This role anchors the physical-development side of Hit Club’s Performance membership and is central to the Hit Club Way: development first, data as proof. In addition to leading member group training, the coach receives full facility access to build and run a private-training clientele for additional income. The ideal candidate blends baseball-informed strength and power training, a safe and energetic coaching presence with young athletes, and the professionalism to represent the Hit Club brand to players and parents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Group & Membership Training (primary responsibility)
- Lead group strength & conditioning sessions of up to 8 athletes (ages 13–18) during scheduled membership training blocks.
- Deliver Hit Club’s baseball-specific programming: lower-body strength (trap-bar based), rotational power (medicine-ball), speed and plyometrics, and arm-care / shoulder-health work.
- Scale loads, progressions, and expectations to each athlete’s training age and physical maturity; prioritize movement quality and safety over maximal loading, especially for younger athletes.
- Run athletic testing days — force-plate jump testing and medicine-ball throw velocity — and record results into each athlete’s player profile.
- Maintain an organized, high-energy, and safe training floor with efficient athlete flow through stations.
- Build relationships with athletes and parents; communicate clearly and encouragingly.
- Contribute strength & conditioning notes to monthly player progress reports and coordinate with hitting and pitching staff.
- Keep the weight room clean and organized; monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs.
- Support camps, clinics, team training, and special events as needed.
Private Training (facility-access privilege / additional income)
- Receive full facility access to build and deliver private and small-group training sessions for additional, self-generated income.
- Book all private sessions through the Hit Club system and adhere to facility scheduling, booking, and facility-access terms.
- Maintain the same standards of safety, professionalism, cleanliness, and brand representation during private sessions as during member training.
Professional Standards & Safety
- Uphold Hit Club’s child-safety standards at all times, including appropriate, professional conduct with minors and adherence to supervision and facility protocols.
- Maintain current certifications and comply with all facility rules, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to perform the essential duties of this job with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a direct threat to the safety or health of athletes or others. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education & Experience
- Recognized strength & conditioning certification is preferred plus demonstrated S&C experience will be considered.
- Experience training youth and/or high school athletes; a baseball or rotational-sport background is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of long-term athletic development and maturation-appropriate programming.
- Familiarity with athletic-testing technology (force plates, velocity-based tools) is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses & Clearances
- CPR & AED certification — preferred.
- Strength & conditioning certification (CSCS or equivalent) — strongly preferred.
- Successful background check and any required child-safety clearance — required (this position works directly with minors).
Communication Skills
- Strong verbal communication with athletes and parents; able to write clear, concise progress notes.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Standing, walking, and active coaching for extended periods; demonstrating athletic movements.
- Lifting, spotting, and moving equipment (plates, dumbbells, sleds, etc.); setting up and breaking down training stations.
- Indoor baseball training facility; primary hours during peak membership blocks (evenings and weekends), varying with programming; energetic youth-athlete environment.
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
This role uses a two-part model: (1) base compensation for leading scheduled member group-training blocks, and (2) additional self-generated income from private training delivered under the facility-access terms. Specific rates, facility-access/fee terms, hours, and worker classification will be finalized in the employment or engagement agreement.
