Rusty's Holiday Lights is hiring dependable, hardworking team members for our 2026 Christmas light season.
You'll primarily install professional Christmas light displays on residential homes. Depending on workload, you may also assist with exterior cleaning services such as gutter cleaning, moss treatment, window cleaning, and other exterior maintenance.
No professional Christmas light installation experience is required — we provide paid training.
Experience with roofing, construction, exterior cleaning, window cleaning, gutters, ladders, landscaping, or other hands-on trades is a plus.
PAY & $300 SIGNING BONUS
Pay: $21–$27/hour + bonus opportunities
Starting pay is based on directly relevant experience, professional ladder/roof experience, demonstrated skills, and the position you're hired into.
This is hourly pay — not commission-only.
$300 Signing Bonus
Employees who remain actively employed and in good standing for three months from their start date are eligible for a $300 signing bonus, subject to applicable payroll taxes and deductions.
Strong performers may also have opportunities to advance into Lead Installer or Crew Lead positions.
Top-performing seasonal employees may be considered for year-round opportunities with Rusty's Window Cleaning after the holiday season.
YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE WITH HEIGHTS
This is not occasional ladder work.
Our installers regularly work on residential homes up to three stories and use extension ladders up to 32 feet.
You must be comfortable:
- Climbing and working from extension ladders up to 32 feet
- Working at heights up to three stories
- Working and walking on residential roofs
- Following company ladder and roof-safety procedures
- Using required safety and fall-protection equipment
If you're not comfortable working at heights, this position will not be a good fit.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Install professional Christmas lights on residential homes
- Install roofline lighting, wreaths, garland, and other holiday décor
- Work from extension ladders and residential roofs
- Install extension cords, timers, and related equipment
- Troubleshoot and service holiday-light displays
- Load and unload lights, ladders, tools, and materials
- Keep company vehicles, equipment, and job sites clean and organized
- Communicate professionally with customers
- Follow company installation, quality, and safety procedures
- Work effectively as part of a crew
- Assist with Christmas light takedowns in January
- Assist with gutter cleaning, moss treatment, window cleaning, and other exterior services as needed
PHYSICAL & OUTDOOR WORK
This is an active, hands-on outdoor position.
You must be able to:
- Lift and carry approximately 50 pounds
- Carry and maneuver ladders and equipment
- Climb ladders repeatedly throughout the workday
- Work on residential roofs
- Work on your feet throughout your shift
- Perform physical work throughout the day
- Work outdoors in Washington fall and winter weather
Yes — that includes rain, cold temperatures, and wet conditions.

- Able to work in changing weather conditions
- Dependable transportation and attendance
EXPERIENCE
Christmas light experience is NOT required. Paid training is provided.
Previous experience in any of the following is a plus:
- Christmas light installation
- Window cleaning
- Gutter cleaning
- Roofing
- Construction
- Exterior cleaning
- Pressure washing
- Landscaping
- Tree work
- Professional ladder work
- Other physical or skilled trades
SCHEDULE
Start Date: September 15, 2026
Our Christmas light season runs approximately September through January.
September: Paid training and installations begin
October: Installation season ramps up
November: Peak installation season
December: Installations and service continue, followed by a reduced schedule later in the month
January: Christmas light takedowns, primarily during the first three weeks
Monday–Saturday Work Available
Monday through Saturday work is available during the season. Saturday availability is especially helpful during our busiest installation months and provides opportunities for additional hours.
Schedules and weekly hours may vary based on workload, customer demand, weather, and the time of the season.
Applicants should be prepared for a busy schedule during peak holiday-light season.
