Reports to: Culinary Operations Director, Kitchen Manager, and Manager on Duty
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of dishes according to recipes, portions, and presentation guidelines.
- Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment.
- Handle ingredients safely, including measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, and preparing food items.
- Safely use knives, kitchen tools, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, fryers, grills, and other kitchen equipment as needed.
- Cook meats, vegetables, and other menu items using proper cooking methods and temperatures.
- Plate and present food according to Highland Pub standards.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and proper storage procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation throughout each shift.
- Support a positive guest experience through timely, consistent, and high-quality food preparation.
- Follow all safety, security, and workplace protocols.
- Help protect company assets, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with opening, closing, prep, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior cooking, kitchen, or related food service experience preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety practices.
- Willingness to obtain food safety certification if required.
- Basic math and counting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage the demands of a busy kitchen station.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Reliable, professional, and willing to support the needs of the kitchen and restaurant.
