Position Summary
The Racquet Sports Pro Shop Attendant plays an important role in supporting a welcoming, active, and enjoyable racquet sports environment for members and guests. This position helps ensure smooth daily operations of the pro shop and racquet facility while delivering a positive experience that reflects the organization’s commitment to service excellence. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, personable, and knowledgeable about or interested in tennis and pickleball. This role requires a team-oriented individual who is comfortable balancing customer interaction, administrative tasks, and physical activity in a dynamic recreational setting. Candidate must be available during the holiday period of December 15th – January 3rd, 2027.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to members, guests, and visitors by creating a welcoming and professional pro shop experience.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for racquet sports facility inquiries, assisting with court reservations, scheduling, and general facility information.
- Process retail sales transactions, assist customers with merchandise selection, and maintain accurate inventory and product displays.
- Support tennis and pickleball program registration, including assisting members with enrollment, payments, and program-related questions.
- Utilize computer systems and software to manage reservations, registrations, point-of-sale transactions, and member account information.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked pro shop and surrounding facility areas.
- Assist with daily racquet sports operations, including preparing courts and ensuring facilities are ready for member and guest use.
- Perform physical facility maintenance duties, including brushing courts using a golf cart and assisting with general upkeep as needed.
- Communicate effectively with members, guests, instructors, and management to address questions, concerns, and service needs.
- Promote racquet sports programs, events, merchandise, and facility offerings to enhance member engagement.
- Follow all safety procedures, operational guidelines, and customer service standards.
- Assist with special events and seasonal programming as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in Customer Service, Retail, or Hospitality preferred
- Knowledge of or a strong interest in tennis, pickleball, and racquet sports operations preferred
- Interpersonal and communication skills, while providing professional service to members and guests
- Organization and ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Knowledge of POS and scheduling systems (Court Reserve and Jonas preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift up to 40 pounds.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate golf carts and varying racquets equipment
