Job Purpose
The Business Services Specialist is responsible for building new and maintaining relationships with businesses for work-based learning and placement opportunities. Conducts visits with employers as well as training providers, public officials, non-profits and intermediaries to develop a cohesive network for the success of programs. Grant administration with supervision of grant staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Present WIOA work-based learning, and Apprenticeship programs to businesses, implement and manage Incumbent Worker Training projects; Prepare contracts for Work Experience and On-the-Job Training, maintaining log of active contracts.
- Grant management: Supporting grant requirements and implementation of the program, managing and maintaining relationships with granting organizations, preparing reports detailing on funded projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and requirements set by granting organizations, coordinating efforts with team members working on grant projects.
- Lead efforts to engage with a diverse range of businesses and entities in the region to develop effective relations, ensure that workforce investment activities meet the needs of employers, and develop and implement strategies for meeting the employment and skill needs of workers and employers.
- Work with educational representatives, assist with the develop and implementation of career pathways by aligning the employment, training, and supportive services needed, particularly for individuals with barriers to employment; Pitches subsidized employment opportunities, writes and manages documentation associated with the work subsidy.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Education or Business and/or at least three-years work experience in social services with understanding of business outreach responsibilities. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; however, preference will be given to those applicants meeting the educational and/or employment requirement.
Anticipated Schedule
Full-time 40 hours a week
