Our client is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Production Supervisor to join their growing team in Chicopee, MA. **Candidate must train on the first shift for two months (6:00 AM to 3:30 PM)**
The Day-to-Day:
- Lead employees in driving continuous improvement initiatives and reinforcing a strong culture of workplace safety.
- Ensure the work area and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and organized condition.
- Confirm all team members receive proper machine-specific safety training before operating any equipment.
- Oversee compliance with safety standards and conduct monthly safety talks and routine sunrise meetings.
- Review pre-shift machine inspection sheets, address any concerns promptly, and ensure operational readiness.
- Review production sheets daily and communicate tasks, goals, and changes to employees effectively.
- Inspect materials and finished goods to ensure alignment with customer specifications and quality standards.
- Apply Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to streamline operations and enhance production efficiency.
- Direct daily activities in alignment with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Support team communication, provide on-the-job training, and participate in employee performance evaluations.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production records and reports as required by management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred (not required).
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or related environment (1-3 years preferred).
- Working knowledge of production scheduling, reporting, and safety practices.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with lumber grades, species, and basic lumber math is a strong plus.
- Prior leadership experience and an understanding of company policies and procedures are highly desirable.
