Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dependable Hotshot Driver, CDL - Class A, to join our fast-paced transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor or dually truck with a 40' flatbed gooseneck and specialized equipment for all freight types of cargo.
- Plan and execute over-the-road (OTR) driving routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and fuel efficiency.
- Secure freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Manage the transportation of freight goods by following all DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks to ensure compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and vehicle safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and inspection reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Valid CDL - Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving in various environments.
- Familiarity with flatbeds or other specialized equipment is preferred.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for truck driving.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time tracking.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight safety during transport.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service excellence.
