Truck Driver Job Responsibilities, include but not limited to:
- Drive and operate trucks.
- Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps.
- Pre-inspect truck.
- Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
- Load and unload cargo
- Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy
Truck Driver Skills and Qualifications:
- Traffic laws/ DOT regulations/ driving knowledge
- Pallet jack experience required
- Able to pass random drug tests
- Clean driving record
- No DUI/DWI convictions in the past seven years
- Listening and verbal communication skills
- Dependability
· 1. Perform “pre-trip safety check” inspection of truck according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations; inspect cab to insure they meet company quality standards and take appropriate action as needed
· 2. Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded Check and complete in an accurate and in legible fashion all the required paper work associated with freight
· 3. Move truck to the loading dock as needed
· 4. Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route
· 5. Handles deliveries of urgent orders due service related issues typically using small straight truck and/or van
· 6. Perform damage control checks on items and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
· 7. Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
· 8. Unload pallets, Hand carts and remove trash from trucks
· 9. Perform “post trip safety check” on the vehicle, secure truck for repair or maintenance as needed
· 10. Perform general housekeeping duties in cab, loading dock area and keep trucks clear and clean as required
· 11. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork Performs other related duties as assigned
