Community Support Staff play an important role in helping individuals build meaningful connections, develop practical life skills, and stay engaged in their community. Based primarily at the Sunrise Wellness Center and other community locations, this role focuses on supporting social interaction, daily living activities, and skill development in a welcoming, recovery-oriented environment. Through hands-on support, encouragement, and consistent presence, Community Support Staff help individuals move toward greater independence and well-being.

Provide direct support to individuals at the Sunrise Wellness Center and in community-based settings.

Transport individuals safely to and from the Wellness Center and community activities.

Support participation in group activities as directed by the Program Manager or designated staff.

Deliver individualized, goal-focused support to a small caseload of Community Support Program (CSP) clients.

Assist individuals in building social skills, community living skills, and activities of daily living.

Encourage engagement, participation, and skill development aligned with individual goals.

Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and program activities as assigned.

Perform additional duties as needed to support program operations.

Ability to interact effectively with individuals experiencing a range of mental health symptoms.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Willingness to actively support individuals in working toward personal goals, including skill-building and daily living tasks.

Ability to facilitate or assist with group activities.

Reliability, flexibility, and a collaborative approach to team-based work.

Prior experience in a human services setting is preferred; lived experience is valued.

Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to a safe, insured vehicle.
Work takes place at the Sunrise Wellness Center and in various community locations. The role includes frequent movement throughout the facility and community, as well as driving individuals to activities and appointments. Physical demands may include lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and completing tasks such as restocking supplies, unloading food deliveries, moving furniture, and managing compost or waste. The environment is active and community-focused, requiring flexibility and engagement throughout the workday.
