Traveling Field Technician
Position Summary
The Traveling Field Technician is a national field support position responsible for assisting markets with installer development, service reduction, installation support, and escalated customer resolutions. This role serves as a hands-on technical resource that travels to markets requiring additional support to ensure installation quality, accelerate installer onboarding, and improve overall customer satisfaction.The Traveling Field Technician will typically travel approximately 75% of the time, working alongside Field Managers, installers, and local leadership to provide immediate operational support where it is needed most. When not traveling, the technician will support their home market by conducting installer training, completing service work, and assisting with installation operations.
Primary ResponsibilitiesInstaller Training & Development
- Conduct and assist with installer mock installations.
- Perform field shadows with new installers to ensure proper installation techniques and company standards are followed.
- Provide hands-on coaching and technical instruction throughout the training process.
- Evaluate installer readiness and communicate progress to Field Management and National Training.
- Reinforce company installation standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
Service Reduction
- Travel to high-service markets to assist with reducing open service backlog.
- Complete warranty and service work while maintaining company quality standards.
- Identify root causes of recurring service issues and communicate findings to leadership.
- Assist local Field Managers with developing corrective action plans to prevent repeat service issues.
Installation Support
- Assist with customer installations when additional manpower or technical expertise is required.
- Support markets experiencing staffing shortages or increased installation volume.
- Ensure installations are completed according to company specifications and customer expectations.
Escalated Customer Support
- Respond to high-priority customer escalations requiring immediate attention.
- Represent the company professionally while working directly with homeowners.
- Resolve complex installation or service concerns with urgency and professionalism.
- Communicate updates to leadership regarding customer resolution progress.
Travel Support
- Travel nationally to support offices based on operational priorities.
- Maintain flexibility to adjust travel schedules based on business needs.
- Work closely with National Field Training, Operations, and local Field Managers while assigned to each market.
Equipment & Inventory
- Maintain a company-issued tool inventory capable of completing installations and service work.
- Ensure all tools and equipment remain organized, operational, and travel-ready.
- Report damaged or missing equipment promptly.
Home Market Responsibilities
When not assigned to travel, the Traveling Field Technician will:
- Assist with installer mocks and shadows.
- Complete service appointments.
- Assist with customer installations.
- Support local Field Managers with installer development and quality initiatives.
- Provide additional operational support as directed.
QualificationsRequired
- Extensive experience installing walk-in showers and bath systems.
- Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality installations independently.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to train and mentor installers.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% of the time.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work in residential construction environments.
Preferred
- Previous experience training installers.
- Leadership or Field Manager experience.
- Experience resolving customer escalations.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
