Responsibilities

- Slice meats, cheeses, and bread using proper slicing techniques with manual handling skills to maintain quality and safety.
- Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable serving and food handling support.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli and bakery sections, adhering to food safety management protocols.
- Restock displays regularly to ensure availability of popular items while managing heavy lifting tasks safely.
- Follow all safety standards in food preparation and handling to guarantee a safe environment for team members and customers.
- Support catering requests and special orders with precision in meal preparation and presentation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is highly preferred.
- Strong knife skills and basic slicing techniques are essential for efficient food preparation.
- Knowledge of culinary practices including cooking, meal preparation, sensory evaluation, and food safety management.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining manual handling best practices.
- Familiarity with food industry standards related to food handling, safety standards in production, and catering services.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to serving guests.
- Basic understanding of safety standards in food production environments; certification or training in food safety is a plus.
