Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Ductwork Helper, where you will play a vital role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC duct systems. Duties
- Assist with the installation, assembly, and positioning of ductwork components according to schematics and HVAC design plans
- Support technicians in cutting, fitting, and securing duct sections using hand tools and power tools
- Help with the inspection and cleaning of duct systems to ensure optimal airflow and system performance
- Aid in troubleshooting mechanical systems, including HVAC/R equipment, refrigeration units, boilers, and air conditioning systems
- Participate in electrical diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting under supervision to identify issues with electrical or building automation systems
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Support the testing and commissioning of HVAC systems to verify proper operation and compliance with specifications
Qualifications
- Construction experience or familiarity with mechanical systems is preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, and plumbing systems is advantageous
- Experience with hand tools, electrical diagnostics, equipment repair, or HVAC system maintenance is a plus
- Ability to read technical diagrams and understand building automation systems beneficial
- Strong mechanical aptitude with an interest in HVAC system installation and repair processes
- Valid driver’s license (including <PERSON> driver if applicable) for travel between job sites
- Basic proficiency with testing equipment such as ohmmeters for electrical troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with team members and clients during service visits
- Certifications such as EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) certification or HVAC/R knowledge are desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided
