We are looking for a fun, energetic, and dependable person to join our Youth Department for Saturday Morning Playgroup!
Schedule:
Saturdays, 8:45 AM–1:15 PM
About the Position
Our Saturday Morning Playgroup is designed for children ages 2–5. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children and can create a fun, safe, and engaging Saturday morning experience.
Additional Opportunities
This position can provide opportunities for additional work throughout the year, including school-break and seasonal camps, special events, and other Youth Department programs.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with children and is looking for a consistent Saturday position with the potential for additional hours throughout the year.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervising and engaging with children ages 2–5
- Leading age-appropriate games and activities
- Planning and assisting with fun art projects
- Playing and interacting with children
- Serving lunch
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and positive environment
- Communicating positively with children, families, and Youth Director
Qualifications
- Knowledge of child development and experience working with young children
- Energetic, patient, creative, and responsible
- Enjoys working with children and creating engaging activities
- Reliable and dependable
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and sit on the floor for extended periods of time.
- Ability to actively participate in games, activities, and play with children ages 2–5.
- Ability to lift and carry children or equipment weighing up to approximately 30–40 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to assist children with basic needs, including meals, bathroom assistance, and getting up/down from the floor.
- Ability to move quickly and safely to supervise and respond to children in an active play environment.
- Ability to set up and clean up play areas, including lifting and moving toys, tables, chairs, and activity supplies.
- Ability to maintain a safe and attentive environment while supervising multiple young children.
