GENERAL SUMMARY:
The duties of the Key Holder/Team Lead include assisting customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, processing merchandise, opening & closing the store, as well as performing other duties assigned by Store Management to maximize store profitability and provide an industry leading level of customer satisfaction.
DUTIES and ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provide excellent customer service, smile, greet and assist customers.
· Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer’s purchase, collect payment from customers and make change, bag merchandise, and assist customers with merchandise as necessary.
· Follow company merchandise processes; unpack, stock, restock, and rotate merchandise on shelves and build merchandise displays.
· Ability to perform all duties essential to the opening & closing of the store.
· Ability to work a rotating, flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays and weekends as necessary to meet the needs of the retail business.
· Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
· Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills. Being calm and professional under pressure. Does not become defensive or irritated.
· Understanding of safety policies and practices.
· Ability to read and follow directions and merchandise presentation guides.
· Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
· Basic mathematical skills.
· Ability to perform cash register functions.
· Ability to stock merchandise.
-Opening & Closing responsibilities
WORK EXPERIENCE and/or EDUCATION:
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Frequent walking and standing
· Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check out station, and stock merchandise; which may also require the ability to push and/or pull carts.
· Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment such as handheld scanners, pricing guns, box cutters, tape guns, merchandise containers, two-wheel dollies, pallet jacks.
· Frequent and proper lifting of up to 40 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds
· Occasional climbing (using step ladder) up to heights of six feet
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
