Job Summary-
As an
Entry-level Groundman, you will play a vital supporting role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power lines. Working under the direct supervision of experienced linemen, you will be responsible for preparing materials, operating basic equipment, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment on various project sites.
Job Responsibilities-
- Assist linemen with the preparation and organization of tools, materials, and equipment at job sites.
- Perform various manual labor tasks, including digging trenches, moving poles, and clearing brush.
- Operate and maintain a variety of hand and power tools under supervision.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Ensure proper grounding and safety procedures are followed on site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions precisely.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and pre-job hazard assessments.
- Assist with traffic control and flagging duties as needed.
Job Qualifications-
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class D Driver's License; a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) frequently.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and challenging terrains.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Basic understanding of safety practices and the ability to learn and adhere to industry standards.
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
