As the Nursing Manager, you will work hand in hand with healthcare professionals and staff to provide appropriate, world-class patient care to patients going through the judicial system. You will be responsible for providing clinical direction, oversight, and guidance for health assessments, clinical interventions, and more. We Require
Five years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital or ambulatory care setting
Two years of experience serving as a supervisory nurse or in another capacity that involves clinical oversight of other nurses or medical staff
A valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state
A Bachelor’s of Nursing or higher may substitute for one year of the nursing experience requirement

Provides direct supervision for 24/7 clinical staff, including approval of timecards, authorization of overtime, scheduling, coaching and counseling, annual performance reviews, performance management plans, performance improvement plans, peer reviews, and progressive discipline
Maintains clinic compliance with NCCHC standards; audits and documents compliance with all NCCHC standards on an annual basis
In partnership with nursing executive leadership, communicates and drives operational improvement and change management initiatives within the clinic(s)
Coaches, mentors, and trains nursing staff to support staff growth and development. Assesses the educational and experience needs of all levels of nursing staff in collaboration with the individual and CHS Education
Provides on-site orientation to new staff following new employee orientation, including outlining job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and proper use of equipment
Responds to clinical emergencies as necessary, provides immediate direction and support to clinical staff
Develops productivity and performance standards for the clinic, communicates expectations to nursing staff, and monitors for compliance
Develops clinic assignments and duties of nursing staff to ensure that the patient care needs of the clinic are met
Provides direct clinical care to patients in accordance with CHS policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines, and community standards of care
Develops clinic-specific operating procedures to ensure compliance with CHS policies and procedures and to promote operational effectiveness
Reviews nursing documentation and Electronic Health Record (TechCare) queues to ensure that nursing tasks are completed (ID Screening, TB reads, Health Assessments, Facility Moves, Alerts, Sick Call Appointments, HNRs, etc.)
Ensures that equipment and supplies necessary for the daily operation of the clinic are available
Communicates with nursing staff through regularly scheduled monthly staff meetings, assuring that meeting minutes are posted, distributed, and acknowledged by all staff
Assures that all mandatory training and other mandatory requirements, such as annual TST are completed by the staff within target dates
Participates in the interviewing, selection, orientation, and training of nursing staff for vacant positions
Working Conditions
Ability to work inside a jail and stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time throughout the shift while accurately handling a high volume of work, communicating with a culturally diverse patient population, and adapting to frequent changes, interruptions, and unscheduled tasks
Travel or floating to various clinical locations is required within a 5-mile radius
Position also includes day or night shift work, which may include weekends and holidays
Must be able to respond to emergencies
Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification and get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney
Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check and maintain MCSO jail access
An active and valid BLS, CPR, and First Aid Certifications that meet the AHA curriculum standards, with in-person skills test and hands-on demonstration components is required by the start date
