Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will oversee the accurate processing of payroll for our organization, ensuring timely and compliant payments to employees across various departments. Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using ADP to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
- Perform data entry for employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information with high accuracy using payroll and accounting software.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Administer benefits programs and process related deductions while ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, including tax filings, benefit enrollments, and employee data updates.
- Collaborate with HRIS systems to update employee information and support human resources functions related to payroll and benefits administration.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly.
- Assist with governmental reporting requirements related to payroll taxes and other regulatory filings.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes when necessary to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Contribute to internal audits by providing detailed reports on payroll activities and financial transactions involving debits & credits.
Experience
- Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate or non-profit setting using ADP.
- Understanding of accounting principles, including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and technical accounting concepts.
- Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations related to payroll processing and reporting requirements.
- Experience with benefits administration processes and non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10-key typing proficiency).
- Analytical skills for reviewing payroll data discrepancies and performing account reconciliations effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining compliance with privacy standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Pay: $29.00 - $34.00 per hour
