Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled IP/QIC Nurse to join our healthcare team, committed to excellence in infection prevention, quality improvement, and patient safety. Duties
- Develop, implement, and oversee infection prevention and control programs aligned with CDC guidelines, OSHA standards, and healthcare infection prevention best practices.
- Conduct comprehensive patient observation and monitoring to identify potential infection risks or disease outbreaks.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance with HIPAA regulations, and proper data management.
- Lead investigations into infectious disease cases, applying microbiology knowledge and epidemiology principles to determine sources and containment measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create effective care plans focused on disease prevention and health promotion.
- Manage data collection efforts related to infection rates, patient safety metrics, and quality improvement initiatives; analyze trends to inform policy adjustments.
- Educate staff on infection control regulations, aseptic techniques, long-term care regulations, and public health policies to promote a culture of safety.
- Supervise team members in infection control procedures, ensuring adherence to all relevant health regulation policies and best practices.
Skills
- Extensive critical care experience combined with assisted living, hospital, or long-term care settings expertise.
- Proven leadership skills in team management and healthcare quality improvement initiatives.
- Deep knowledge of microbiology, anatomy, physiology, infectious diseases (public health), and disease prevention policies.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set), medical terminology, medical records management, and documentation review processes.
- Strong understanding of CDC guidelines, HIPAA compliance, OSHA standards, and long-term care regulations related to infection control.
- Ability to manage complex data collection systems accurately while analyzing trends for continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication skills for training staff on infection prevention protocols and public health policies.
