Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Material Handler to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials within the warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure smooth operations in shipping, receiving, and inventory management, supporting the overall productivity of our supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate various heavy equipment safely and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Pick and pack orders accurately utilizing RF scanners and pick systems to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through warehouse management systems (WMS) and perform regular stock counts.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring proper labeling.
- Manually handle materials requiring manual handling techniques to prevent damage or injury.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing storage areas and optimizing space utilization.
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting, load & unload procedures, and when operating machinery to prevent accidents.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on equipment such as forklifts, clamp trucks, and mechanical tools.
Skills:
- Extensive experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving.
- Proficiency with RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and pick technology.
- Ability to operate forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment safely.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations.
- Mechanical aptitude with construction or heavy equipment operation experience preferred.
- Excellent manual handling skills with attention to safety during heavy lifting tasks.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and inventory control processes.
- Prior experience in warehouse supervisor roles is advantageous.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
