DAWNE IT Solutions is a Washington, DC small business delivering responsive federal IT managed services. This position supports a mission-driven federal cultural institution (approximately 700 users across several DC-area sites) in a Google Workspace and AWS environment, and is contingent on contract award.
Role Summary
Senior systems engineer responsible for the operational integrity of all servers (on-premise, virtual, and cloud) in a Google Workspace and AWS hybrid federal environment.
What you will do
- Own the health, performance, patching, and lifecycle of physical, virtual (VMware), and cloud (AWS) servers.
- Administer Active Directory/ADFS, identity, certificate services, and storage (Dell PowerScale/Unity, Cohesity backups).
- Lead incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and recovery for server and infrastructure issues; support 24x7 escalation.
- Execute patch and configuration management through the change-control process; maintain documentation and runbooks.
Required qualifications
- Expert-level Linux and Windows server administration and shell scripting.
- 5+ years in enterprise systems administration, including virtualization and cloud (AWS).
- Experience with Active Directory, backup/restore, and storage systems.
- Able to obtain U.S. federal suitability/badging; onsite in Washington, DC.
Preferred
- AWS or Microsoft certification; VMware (VCP).
- Federal experience; experience with PowerScale/Cohesity and ITIL processes.
