Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring high-quality presentation and taste
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation regulations
- Support food handling procedures during service, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation times and ensure timely delivery of orders
- Assist with catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with food handling protocols
- Proven restaurant or kitchen experience showcasing strong cooking skills and familiarity with food industry practices
- Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and food safety regulations to ensure compliance and quality control
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques for various cuisines
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong understanding of food service operations including serving, food handling, and catering support
- Enthusiasm for learning new culinary skills and contributing positively to a team environment
