Position Description:
The Accounting Analyst will play a key role in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting while also managing outgoing payments. This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with opportunities to drive continuous improvement, system enhancements, and process efficiencies across the finance function.
Essential Functions:

- Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
- Facilitates payment to vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Prepares and executes payments to vendors via checks, electronic funds transfers (EFT), or wire transfers.
- Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
- Maintains accurate and organized financial records, including proper documentation of all AP transactions.
- Prepares and reviews monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, present variance analyses and related commentary to management.
- Supports month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account analysis.
- Ensures compliance with GAAP/IFRS, company policies, and internal controls.
- Supports budgeting and forecasting activities with accurate historical data and thoughtful analysis.
- Contributes to documenting processes, standard operating procedures, and controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Ability to prepare and interpret financial statements with a strong proficiency in variance analysis and commentary.
- Expertise in month-end/year-end close.
- Experience with journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and strong attention to detail in account analysis.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (experience with ERP systems like NetSuite, SAP, or QuickBooks Enterprise preferred).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills; capable of building strong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to support internal and external audits with strong knowledge of internal controls and audit readiness.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Physical Demands:
The employee is required to spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; occasionally climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Exposure to noise. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education, Experience, Certification and Licenses:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4+ years of relevant experience in accounting or financial reporting..
- Demonstrated involvement in process improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, or similar).
- Must pass background and credit check.

Pay: $29.00 - $35.00 per hour
