Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Salary: $65,000–$90,000 per year
About the Position
Houston Shutters is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support and maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex machinery, minimizing downtime, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and electrical systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and production equipment.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production-related maintenance issues.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, process improvements, and new equipment installations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance.
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
Preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electronics, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
- Ability to work around moving machinery and in a manufacturing environment.
