Holiday Inn Express in Locust Grove is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Engineer to help maintain our hotel and provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our guests.
We are hiring for either a part-time weekend position or a full-time position.
Schedule Options
Part-Time
- Weekends only
- Must be available Saturdays and Sundays
Full-Time
- Weekend availability is mandatory
- Works weekends and three additional days during the week
- Schedule may vary based on hotel needs
Pay
$16.50 to $19.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Job Responsibilities
- Complete daily maintenance tasks and preventive maintenance throughout the hotel
- Use the Quore application to review, update, and complete assigned To-Do items and work orders
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests, the Front Desk, Management, and Housekeeping
- Perform basic plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and general repair work
- Perform caulking in guest rooms, bathrooms, and other areas as needed
- Troubleshoot hotel equipment, appliances, lighting, heating, and air-conditioning systems
- Remove trash from designated areas and dispose of it properly
- Clean and maintain the exterior of the hotel, including entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and surrounding grounds
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, mechanical rooms, and exterior areas
- Keep maintenance areas, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and organized
- Document completed work and report major maintenance concerns to Management
- Follow hotel safety, security, and cleanliness procedures
- Assist with emergency repairs and urgent maintenance issues when needed
Teamwork and Communication
The Maintenance Engineer must be able to communicate professionally and work closely with:
- Front Desk staff
- Hotel Management
- Housekeeping staff
- Other hotel team members
Strong communication and teamwork are essential because maintenance concerns may affect guest rooms, housekeeping operations, and the overall guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, apartment, building, or general maintenance experience is preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, painting, caulking, and general repairs
- Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet to access the Quore application
- Ability to follow and complete tasks listed in Quore
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and professional
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb ladders, and remain active throughout the shift
- Reliable transportation
- Must be consistently available to work weekends
