Our client is a growing, tight-knit company in the Scotch Plains, NJ, area that is seeking a
Temporary Shipping/Receiving Clerk to support their stockroom and warehouse operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, reliable, and enjoys working in a smaller team environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$18/hr
Position Overview:
The Temporary Shipping/Receiving Clerk will support light stockroom operations, including picking, packing, receiving, shipping, and inventory organization. This is a 3-month assignment in a small, friendly team environment, ideal for someone with 1 - 2 years of warehouse or stockroom experience who is organized, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities of the Temporary Shipping/Receiving Clerk:
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Receive incoming orders and organize inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and records.
- Assist with shipping, labeling, and packing materials.
- Keep the stockroom clean, organized, and efficient.
- Support occasional customer order pickups or walk-in customers as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Temporary Shipping/Receiving Clerk:
- 1 - 2 years of warehouse, stockroom, picking/packing, or receiving experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable with light warehouse work; this is not a heavy-lifting or general labor role.
- Basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work independently once trained.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Temporary Shipping/Receiving Clerk:
- Experience using UPS or other shipping systems.
- SAP experience.
- Exposure to inventory tracking, shipping documentation, imports, or exports.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma is required.
