Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to inspire and support students with diverse learning needs. In this vital role, you will develop tailored educational plans, foster inclusive classroom environments, and collaborate closely with families, therapists, and school staff. Duties
- Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with each student’s unique needs and goals
- Develop engaging lesson plans across core subjects such as literacy, math, and life skills, incorporating curriculum development best practices
- Adapt instructional materials for students with disabilities, including working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instruction
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a safe, supportive learning environment
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support early intervention and holistic development
- Provide tutoring, mentoring, and support for students’ social-emotional growth
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and communication logs
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials
- Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities in diverse settings such as private schools or preschools
- Strong knowledge of curriculum development, literacy education, math instruction, and standard testing procedures
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with behavioral health practices and behavior management techniques
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and external specialists
- Ability to adapt lesson plans for different learning styles
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom dynamics effectively while fostering an inclusive atmosphere
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
