SHED Children’s Campus is seeking qualified professionals to work with a growing children’s program.
Established in 1984, SHED Children’s Campus is a grassroots, non-profit
organization located in Andover, MA, on the beautiful grounds of Phillips
Academy, offering year round enrichment programs for children and youth ages
2.9-15 years.
Our philosophy is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach where emphasis is placed upon multi-disciplinary learning opportunities through an emergent, child-initiated curriculum.
SCC is seeking enthusiastic and engaged individuals to join our team. We are looking to fill a positions in our Early Education Preschool Program. Ideal candidates should have experience working with children in an emergent, preferably Reggio Emilia inspired environment.
Flexibility, commitment, and passion are essential characteristics. We are
especially seeking individuals who embrace opportunities to infuse nature, art
and mindfulness into both teacher and child-directed programming. Familiarity
with organic gardening and outdoor education is also preferred.
Key responsibilities entail Teachers should develop a curriculum that embraces the Reggio Emilia philosophy, the community, mindfulness, gardening & nature
Teachers should plan daily work that promotes exploration and discovery for children. Candidates will be expected to observe the interests of the children, and provide additional outlets to further enhance the learning experience.
Candidates should have:
- Experience working with children
- Early Education candidates must meet proper EEC licensing requirements
- Understanding of an emergent curriculum model
- Training in the Reggio Emilia approach
A degree in a related field is highly preferred.
