The
Registered Nurse Inpatient Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (RN DCES) is responsible for providing patient education and support for variety of diabetes health-related issues including but not limited to: Diabetes, Hyperlipidemia, Pre-diabetes, associated co-morbidities, medication management support, and continued insulin pump therapy. The RN CDE will collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, care coordination, and referring physicians to assess and address patient education and support needs.

Education:-
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
License/Certification:-
Valid RN license in the state(s) of practice, including eligibility under an NLC multistate license.

Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) through the Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE).

Certified Basic Life Support
Experience:-
2-3 years related experience
- Individual and group teaching experience

Experience in working with patient’s nutritional need for diabetes and related co-morbidities. Working with adult populations.
