Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Fabrication & Fiberglass Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with gel coat and fiberglass repair, ability to color match, strong fabrication abilities, and the confidence to manage projects independently. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, values precision and quality, and wants to grow with a company that is committed to doing things the right way.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Gel Coat & Fiberglass Experience
- Must have experience in color-matching (there will be a skill assessment before hire)
- Experience applying, repairing and finishing gel coat surfaces
- Ability to spray and roll gel coat as needed
- Skilled in sanding, fairing, buffing, and polishing to achieve high-quality finishes
- Knowledge of fiberglass layup, resin systems (polyester, vinyl ester, epoxy), and proper cure processes
- Ability to identify and repair structural and cosmetic fiberglass damage
Fabrication Skills
- Ability to measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials accurately
- Experience building custom parts, panels, hatches, bulkheads, or structural reinforcements is a plus
- Comfortable working with composites, core materials, and marine-grade hardware
- Proficient with shop tools (grinders, sanders, saws, drills, etc.)
- Strong attention to fit, finish, and structural integrity
Ability to Work Independently
- Capable of managing projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines
Electrical Knowledge (Not Required)
- Basic understanding of 12V/24V marine electrical systems
- Ability to assist with wiring runs, component mounting, and troubleshooting
