Would you like to make a difference in a child's life?
At Jeremiah's Place, our families leave a mark on our hearts and minds, and hopefully, we will do the same for them. Jeremiah's Place protects children and strengthens families by providing a safe haven of respite, health, renewal, and support for children when their families are experiencing a critical need for childcare.
If you're passionate about helping others and working in a supportive, welcoming, and empathic environment, we would love to talk to you about joining our team.
Part-time Evening Therapeutic Childcare team members work Monday through Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm, providing a safe and developmentally appropriate therapeutic environment to minimize the adverse effects of stressful situations or traumatic experiences for children in crisis. Staff members are responsible for managing the care provided to children visiting our short‑term emergency childcare center. Because children visiting Jeremiah’s Place may have complex backgrounds and experiences, team members must understand the effects of trauma on child development and respond with sensitivity, consistency, and skill.
Therapeutic Childcare team members create and maintain an enriching environment by implementing a S.T.E.A.M.-based curriculum throughout our daily schedule, with the ability to adapt activities based on developmental stages and individual needs.
The evening shift is a transitional and fast‑paced period, with children either arriving for care or preparing to leave for the night. During this shift, staff support children through key evening routines, including dinnertime, bath time, and bedtime preparation, ensuring each child’s emotional and physical needs are met with care. Additionally, our Early Learning Collabrative (ELC) program is active during this time, and evening team members may be called upon to assist as needed to ensure smooth operations and a nurturing environment for all children.
